Lavender Farms

Half way up Haleakala, the volcano, is a beautiful place called Alii Lavender Farms.  It is nice and cool and gets a lot of rain.  They produce a huge amount of lavender and make goodies, drinks and body products with their lavender.  They also grow so many plants and flowers that are amazing.

This is one of their patches of lavender.  They grow five varieties here.

The colors on some of the flowers were so bright that our camera couldn't even capture it.  It's pretty amazing that something can be that color in nature.

This plant looks like snow to me.  I just love it!!

This is the kalo plant that is very special to Hawaii.  It fruits taro that makes poi, kulolo, and many other staples for the hawaiians back in the plantaions days.  It is a spiritual thing for them as well.

Hallies New Haircut

Hallie needed a hairstyle so bad.  She has such thin hair so I decided to give her an A-line haircut.  It's no Kaly haircut, but it turned out pretty cute.

Hana, Maui

Our drive to Hana, the rainforest here in Maui.  Absolutely beautiful and it rained the whole time.  The roads are a little tight but definitely worth the drive.  The waterfalls were so beautiful!

Snorkeling

Kyle and Hallie love snorkeling!  Kyle picked it up easily but Hallie needed some practice so we started in the bathtub, moved to the pool then upgraded her equipment and started snorkeling in the ocean.  She loves it, when she spots something she gets so excited that you can her her yelling through her tube.  It cracks me up!!

Kyle loves going to out pretty far.  He does an awesome job and always spots the fish and tells me what they are called.  We call him the turtle magnet because he always sees the big sea turtles.  We always go with him because he has pretty good luck with them.  The fish are so pretty and interesting!!

These are some of the creatures we see.

This a unicorn fish.  The face is so funny looking and they have a horn looking thing coming out of their head.  These are everywhere.

Beach Time

We spend a lot of time at the beach.  The kids love the Water!  If we aren't at the beach, we are at the pool.  Kyle loves to paddle board, kaiak, boogie board and snorkel.  Hallie has gone out kaiaking with me and loves snorkeling too.
